| Streszczenie: | The topic of my inaugural lecture today is "Linguistics in the Service Of Mankind". Before going into the heart of the lecture, I will endeavor to state what led me into this less
specialized area of my discipline in the choice of a topic.
First of all, although I will be the third professor of Linguistics
in this University, this will be the first inaugural lecture
in the discipline. My predecessors never delivered their
inaugural lectures before leaving the service of this University.
Hence, there is the need to give some introductory
remarks on Linguistics at the first inaugural lecture. |
