Summary:Natural vegetation provides us with an array of products and services that are vital for our survival and balanced development. Vegetation untouched by human activity probably no longer exists in Nigeria. Farming, logging, grazing, hunting, exploitation for a variety of products, urbanization, and infrastructural development, all heightened by burgeoning human and livestock populations, have reduced our plant cover to a patchwork of farmlands, plantations, and secondary vegetation at various stages of regrowth and maturity.
