Vegetation untouched by human activity probably no longer exists in Nigeria. Farming, logging, grazing, hunting, exploitation for a variety of products, urbanization, and infrastructural development, all heightened by burgeoning human and livestock populations, have reduced our plant cover to a patchwork of farmlands, plantations, and secondary vegetation at various stages of regrowth and maturity.
