Sumario:Accountancy, society and economic development charted, in as yet somewhat uncharted seas on the frontiers of accounting territory, the role of accountancy in relation to society in general and to economic development in particular. Therefore, brought into focus the potential uses of the accounting methodology not only as a vital instrument of economic development per se, but also as a social force which should, increasingly in the years to come, help to improve the 'quality of life' of mankind in the widest possible context.
