| Summary: | This study investigates and identifies important variable determining economic activity status of rural dwellers in Nigeria. The result shows that the household size. Literacy rate and unemployment rate are statistically significant variables determining participation rate. Based upon the findings of the study and in view of the fact that majority of Nigerians reside in the rural areas, the paper suggests policy measures that will enhance participation rate in the rural economy of Nigeria. |
